Moon Days: Full Moon Charging

The other night during the Full Moon, I charged a lot of stones under the Moonlight. It felt so good to get rid of some stagnant energy. 

During the Full Moon, charging your gemstones is an opportune time to not only cleanse the energy of your crystals and whatever other talismans you may carry, but it also magnifies the energies of the said objects. Full Moon energy is potent with the energy of fullness, abundance, attraction, manifestation, love-- so keep in mind which stones and objects you want to amplify. That being said, you can charge objects at different moon phases for different energies you want to enhance.

This Full Moon, I charged a lot of rose quartz, moonstone, and clear quartz for the upcoming Goddess Workshop with Aphrodite, to enhance attracting love ;)

I also charged my selenite wand and tower to enhance their healing qualities as I continue to grow into my healing role.

I charged my amethyst chunks to help open my third-eye and enhance my moon readings.

And I charged my Medicine bag made by Sage Goddess enhancing the self-mothering needed to take place within me.

Moon charging does not need to be complicated. You can simply leave them out in the moonlight and go about your business. Or you can say a prayer before you let them soak. Or you can make a full ritual out of it. I lit incense and a candle, held each of the stones and said some prayers and affirmations. And then as an ultimate blessing (to me) I kiss each of my stones. Nerdy? Probably :)

Full Moon: The Full Moon Altar of Ally Sands

Happy Full Moon, Moondaughters!!

I felt I wasn't sharing as much Moon lore as I have wanted to for the blog. So I created my 'Full Moon' series. It is called 'Full Moon' (I know, not very original) and it will focus on sacred crafts, rituals, and specific Full Moon altars in honor of this bright, magickal time of the month! This feature will be only once a month, so if you would like to participate let me know!

The first one is the Full Moon altar of Ally Sands of Aquarian Soul 

For Ally, the Full Moon is a time to cleanse her most used crystals under the moon's ethereal light.

Her altar is low to the ground, great for kneeling and meditating, which she does before any ritual to ground and center herself. She also takes a ritual bath with essential oils and herbs to help her relax and cleanse her energy to prepare her for the ritual work.

Since January is her birthday month (Happy birthday, Ally!) she added some Aquarius symbols on her altar. This is a gorgeous vintage Aquarius pendant gifted from an old friend.

She also created a crystal mandala with her birthstone, garnet, at the center.

She always put fresh flowers on her altar because of the feminine energy and living energy it brings. 

Crystal mandalas and grids are great to make during the Full Moon to help manifest your intentions.

 

Her beautiful sage and smudge fan.

This Full Moon, she decided to do some tarot readings. She used this Moon Garden deck to do a past present future spread.

And she picked one card from her Animal Guide Oracle deck. It's guidance was to meditate everyday this week. 

Her sweet 18 year old kitty! Animals love the energy altars bring to spaces.

Moon Days: Moon Partners

This cycle, I decided to do something different. My best friend and I decided to be Moon Partners. This New Moon, we told each other our intentions for this cycle and on the Full Moon we will celebrate and see how our intentions manifested, aka Goddess Party!

My intention for this cycle is to create space. This is manifesting in the Apothecary Circle by clearing space in my home, and considering a different space for my blog and offerings! We shall see... everything is still unfolding <3

Goddess Workshops: Aphrodite, the Love Goddess

This year I am working with more Goddess energy again. 

It also has to do with my word of the year, Nest.

But honestly, I just miss Goddess, my Divine Mother.

For me, working with Goddess energy is so empowering, uplifting, and brings me back to my center. I feel I can touch the wisdom of my ancestors, the ancients, and the goddesses who inhabited the old world; I am a part of that line keeping the old ways strong. It is so powerful and humbling to me.

So I am starting with self-love with Goddess Aphrodite. I want to build a Nest of self-love in my being again. And I want to share this journey with you all. This is the first of the many Goddess workshops I am creating this year. The workshops dances around the Lunar phases (she is after all the symbol of Goddess), and helps you to create your own dance with the Love Goddess.

Venus/Aphrodite (note: I use the Roman and Greek names interchangeably) gets a bad rep sometimes. I actually used to really dislike her. I was turned off by the idea of all the lovers she's had and I thought it was so "cliche" to work with her. 

Why did I get so defensive when it came to Aphrodite? 

The truth is, she reflected all of the self-love, sensuality, self-worth I was missing in my life.

It took a long time to admit that to myself. But as soon as I did, I began to build a relationship with her and the love for myself grew. I looooooooove the smell of roses now (I used to HATE it!), and  I feel more comfortable in my skin.

It is time to come back to her.

Happy Moon Day everyone!

My birthday weekend was so fun and a much needed little getaway in the woods. And it still is not over yet! I have two friend dates planned and my boy got us tickets to Knotts Berry Farm! He got me a Trancas Geode that they will cut for me, along with a gift card to get some more crystals! I am so excited! I will post pictures when I get them! I am a very happy 26 year old :)

Moon Calendars

Hi loves!

A couple of ladies have asked if I know of any good moon calendars, so here are a couple I recommend:

My top pick: We'Moon 2013 Wall Calendar: The Other Side

We'Moon is a great resource for women. I have had the datebook and it has poetry, rituals, and each year has a theme. 2013 is The Other Side. I am getting the wall calendar this time around because I looove how they have each phase of each day, it makes it very clear!

Llewellyn's 2013 Witches' Calendar

I love the artwork in these calendars and it definitely reminds me to stay in touch with the seasons and rhythms of the Mama Earth.

Lunar 2013 Calendar: Glow In the Dark

The one is fun! I have the 2012 edition and the pictures are gorgeous, but the glow-in-the-dark (the reason I bought it) is kind of weak. The phases of each day are supposed to glow but they are pretty small so maybe that's why. It was still a nice calendar though.

My favorite datebook/planner: The Sacred Journey

This datebook/planner has a calendars, worksheets, journals, and even tarot/oracle layouts, an has a lot of space to write! I write big so I need that! I have the 2012 planner and I love it.

So these are my choices, and ones I recommend. I hope this helps!

I think I will eventually have to make my own Lunar calendar and workbook...

I am no astrologer, but I love to read about the different signs and read horoscopes. I am sure most of you all know your Sun sign or at least has heard of the term. Well, I am going to let you know about a big important sign in Astrology that most people don't know about, but should! It is our Moon sign. It is just as important, if not more so, than our Sun sign.

Like the Sun, radiating light, our Sun sign is what we shine out into the world; it is how we want people to see us. The Moon sign reflects our inner worlds, where our emotions and dreams reside, similar to how the Moon reflects light. This sign is more vulnerable and waxes and wanes with the Moon's energy. We need this sign just as much as we need the Sun sign; it helps to balance the Yang, our solar/masculine energy, with our Yin, the feminine/lunar energy. A lot of times, the Moon sign resonates more deeply, on a more soulful level, than that of the Sun sign. Have you ever felt your Sun sign was missing something? Well it is! It's missing your Moon!

My sun sign is in fiery Sagittarius, while my moon sign is in watery Pisces. A lot of the time I feel more connected to my Lunar qualities in Pisces, but feel torn between the opposite elements of water and fire. This is good knowledge to know about yourself! Leaning to balance these two signs in your life can bring balance and harmony back to your well-being.
