Elemental Spirit

The other day, I was sitting out on my grass listening to the wind play in the palm fronds. As I closed my eyes to listen to what the wind was whispering, it started to sound like rain on a tin roof or waves crashing on rocky shores. And as I kept listening, I began to see a fire circle with a large cackling fire. It was in this moment I finally realized the thread of Spirit that connects us all together and to the elements of this world.

I am so humbled.

Moon Days: Full Moon Affirmations

With the Full Moon coming up on the 28th, I thought I would share some Full Moon affirmations with you all! Obviously you can write your own, but when keeping the Full Moon in mind, write about manifestation, celebration of you and the universe, and not to mention creativity and joy. Have fun with them and keep them in the present tense.

"I always manifest my intentions in tuned with the Highest Good"

"I am fertile with life, creativity, passion, and love"

"I am one with the universe"

"My chalice is full of abundance and blessings"

"I am sexy and desirable"

"I am a woman, hear my roar!"

Enjoy, and have a happy week!

Love and Blessings,

Thoughts and New Items

I love to crochet, yet somehow I always forget I do. I can go through months without crocheting and be in a weird funk and when I start crocheting again it disappears. I cut myself off from my own creativity - what is up with that? I think apart of it is not allowing myself to call myself an artist...like I am unworthy of that title. I studied acting for years, was on stage, crocheted as a hobby, but since I have not been acting or trying to pursue Hollywood (no way, no how) I need a creative outlet. It's that simple.

I am a creative person. I am an artist.

Crocheting is just so relaxing and nostalgic to me. It reminds me of my dad's girlfriend; she has been my mama since I was 2. It wasn't until the end of high school and my college years that I started getting more and more closer to her. And we would bond by crocheting. She walked me through granny squares and motifs and gave me good tips and always supplies me with extra hooks and yarn :). Whenever I crochet I think of her and miss her. I live in Southern Cali while they live up north and I won't be seeing them for the holidays this year. So crocheting makes me feel closer to her.

It wasn't until last year I started to seriously consider selling and sharing my work. I love to crochet gifts for my friends and family, but I though I would try my luck with Etsy. However, so many people sell their crochet items already, it is so hard to stand out amidst the beanies and scarves. I have struggled finding my niche with my art, but I feel I have finally found it.

I am so spiritually inclined and with the evolution of my blog here, I want to make crochet items with spirit at the center of it all. I am in the middle of designing more dream catchers, moon phase bags, tarot/rune bags and more. Not to mention more courses and e-books and other soul works. I am excited for the upcoming year and new chapter of Moondaughter.

With all of that being said, I am finally stocking crochet items in my shop
I am also open to custom orders and requests! Just convo me on Etsy :)

I hope everyone has a beautiful, abundant, and Happy Thanksgiving, to those who celebrate it!

Cup of Tea: Rest

source

"Rest and be thankful."

~William Wordsworth

And that I am. I am so grateful for everyone's support and encouraging comments during this whole process. I can now rest a little and be thankful for achieving this milestone. The Moon-time course will always be up so you can start it whenever you feel called to do so, or not. I am just happy a piece of me, my passion, my soul is out there in the world to help other women.

Thank you so much, my kindred spirits!
Onward and upward!

Namaste,
Marissa Moondaughter

Ps. Have you ever tried the original Good Earth Tea? It is sooooo good, no need to add anything! It is so amazing and rich! Love.

Moon Days: It Has Arrived!

Happy Full Moon!

My Moon-Time E-course is launched!

I am beyond thrilled to share this with everyone! It has been a J.O.U.R.N.E.Y creating my first e-course, and I am still soaking it all in. I will share more on this at a later time for sure. I am just so grateful and excited to be working with this group of women and more as this course evolves.

This is the last day to purchase the course at the discounted price, and now you can purchase it for automatic download right over here.

I put my heart in soul into this course. Thank you for witnessing me. I honor and love you all.

Now it's time to rest in gratitude, and get back on track with the blog!

This Season: Autumn 2012

I want to live more consciously in my seasons. So here are things I am planning to focus on and do this Fall. I would love to hear yours too ladies!

~Found some lovely DIY's so fitting for fall, a crochet poncho and beeswax candles-- I am thinking I can add essential oils to it too?

~Carving out more sacredness during the day and week, I think the Intuitive Heart Sanctuary is helping with this.

~Taking Dominee's Inner Journey for Stress/Anxiety has given me some huge wake up calls... I need to figure out what relieves stress for me, because I am not good at that at all.

~We just got a crock pot, so bring on the stews and ciders.... mmmmm

~I am currently writing an e-course and e-book for you lovely ladies focusing on our Moon-times and going within :)

What do you want to do this Autumn for your beautiful self?

Love and Autumnal Blessings.

A Big Thank You

Wow.

I just want to say thank you soooo so much for the love and support for my post yesterday. It felt so much better to get it off my chest and it got me out of the funk I had been in.

Thank you for letting me be human. I love you all so much.

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

So. I am letting you know tomorrow I am having a super fun DIY post from the lovely Tamber at Yellow Porch Light. I am super excited to share this!

I will  be launching my Follow Your Moon readings this next week along with a giveaway or two!! I will give more deets as it gets closer :)

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

Also in other news, I just dropped off my little Theo to get neutered today :( He has to be there all day and I am picking him up after work. Poor little guy. And yes, the picture above is Theo on his leash. Our street is super busy, and there are a lot of stray cats around so I try to monitor him the best I can. His lively spirit is so wild and he loves to be free so I try to accommodate to his needs. I am such a mother cat. Some people may think it's wrong or odd, but it works for us.

Thank you all so much!

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

The Grateful Project

Happy Blue Moon!  Here it is:

So I cannot believe how blessed I am since I have started this blog. I have met so many kindred spirits, and so many people wanting to create and share with me. I am so grateful for all of you.

Grateful.

I want to create a deep soulful relationship with Grateful. So I created this project when she whispered in my ear at 3 am in the morning, when I could not wait to start it at a normal hour, when my boyfriend so willingly got up to make me a Reese's Klondike shake and put on a movie...

I am Grateful.

So here is The Grateful Project. With this project, I intend to Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude so it becomes my second breath. I want to share this with everyone so we all can get to know Grateful on more intimate terms.

Here is the Calling.

For the next 30 or 60 days I am calling upon myself, and those who wish to embark on this journey with me, to answer the call of Gratitude.

And This is How it Works.

Step two: Write Your Own
On the blank spot, write five of you own not listed already. Write them the way the others are formatted.

Step three: Prep
Cut them out like so:

Step four: Grateful Container
Establish a container where you will put all of your Grateful tabs in. It could be a jar, bowl, pouch, whatever resonates with you.

Step five: Finding Space
Put the papers somewhere you will see everyday. You could  hang them on your wall, put them on your bed side table, fridge, altar- anywhere you will see them everyday for the next 30 or 60 days and preferably by your Grateful Container.

(mine is hanging above my sacred space)

Step six: The Action
Everyday starting either today (August 31st) or the next day (September 1st), choose one of the tabs to be Grateful for. Take it off the paper so you only have that individual tab, ponder on it and say what you are grateful for in relation to it. You can do this in the morning and start your day with it and notice it throughout the day, or choose to do it at the end of the day and reflect on it before bed. Whatever works for you. Take at least 5 minutes of your day to do this. After you say what you are grateful for either aloud, through meditation, or journaling, place the tab in the Grateful Container and keep it there. Do this until all of your tabs are in the Grateful Container! 30 days of Gratitude! I will be starting September 1st since there is 30 days in the month!

Step seven: Deepening
If you want to deepen your level of gratitude for the next 30 days after that, randomly choose a tab out of the Grateful Container to reflect on! You can do the same process as before, but this time you are not choosing what to be grateful for. You can use it almost as a daily oracle or devotion. And you can make it unique to you! You can put the tabs back in or keep them separate after you pull them. If you keep them in and draw the same tab twice, maybe you need to look at that one more deeply at this moment. Whatever works for you, do it!

Step eight: Share
I want everyone to experience this project and find out what being grateful means to them. Please share this on your blog, facebook, twitter, where ever you feel called. Go "like" the official Facebook Page of the Grateful Project, and share your journey on there, your Grateful Containers, your own five tabs, we will be making a Gratitude Community! Grab the button below and put it on your blog or webpage! For the next 30 days I will be making daily posts on my Twitter and Facebook pages with the links back to this page! Celebrate gratitude with me!!

Trinkets from AZ

Hello loves, I just wanted to share some goodies I bought from AZ, I kind of splurged (bad habit of mine), but I thought it was well worth it!

1. I added to my budding dream catcher collection. The two on the ends are the new additions. The smallest one was made by a Native American of the Navajo tribe and has a certificate of authenticity.

2. Jimmy and I decided to start a tradition by buying something handmade a local on each of our travels. We chose two coasters.

3. I bought a Himalayan Salt Lamp in Sedona. I absolutely love the glow. Theo (my kitten) also doesn't sneeze anymore! Yes, the poor little guy has allergies. But Himalayan Salt lets out negative ions into air, cleansing and purifying it!

4. I bought the cute place mat because the colors go with my blog! And some AZ grown sage...mmm cannot wait to use it!

5. I bought some new stones to work with! I will share more about them soon!

6. And I bought some pretty pendants to make some items with! Not sure what I will come up with, so this will be fun!

Arizona inspired me to be more artistic again...somehow it got lost in my daily life, but I am re-awakening.

Have a lovely Wednesday, my beautiful readers! Thank you for putting up with all of my pictures of Arizona! Can you not tell I am obsessed?

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

Arizona Part 4: More Sedona

Tuolumne by Eddie Vedder on Grooveshark

On the trail by the creek there was naturally growing Moonflowers (the white flower in the middle)!! No wonder I love this place ;)

I hope you enjoyed my pictures and thank you for sharing this experience with me.

Arizona Part 3: Sedona Part 1

I looooove Sedona. I didn't even have touch up these photos, the colors are so so vibrant My eyes were blown away. I have so many pictures of Sedona, I am splitting it up into two posts, and it's not even all of them! The town was so beautiful too, I got a few trinkets there (I will show them in another post!) and then we hiked up to Cathedral Rock. It kicked my butt!

The terrain was so amazing, we started by Oak Creek on a forest trail, but ended up rock climbing! I will show pictures of the creek in the next post. While we were hiking, I stopped to pull an oracle card and my card was the Weasel. Basically telling me to enjoy this moment and take it all in. Jimmy got the Wolverine. The last pictures are of us at the very top. We were enclosed by there rock towers, hence the name I am sure. I felt pretty victorious up there. It was such a fun day.

I am so happy you are all enjoying these pictures, it's not over yet!

Love and Blessings,

Arizona Part 2: The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon was so so surreal. When we first got there it was so bright and sunny, the canyon looked like a painting; a vast backdrop of reds and browns. So amazing. As the day grew long, the wind picked up and clouds loomed overhead giving the canyon so much depth and shadow. Again, S.U.R.R.E.A.L. We climbed and explored for hours, and I took that little pine cone as a souvenir :) It is now on my altar.

I also had to put a picture of my handsome boyfriend up. This picture was too good to pass up. I am so blessed to be able to go on adventures with that loving soul of his.

Next time, we will go hiking in the canyon. I am so grateful for this beautiful earth we live on.

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter
