Cup of Tea: Red-Tent Tea and Ritual Kit

Just had to share.

Beautiful Earthy Moon Goddess, Lindsay Luna created a Red Tent Tea specifically for your moon-time.

"She's choosing to have more of these soft, delicate, moments with herself. She's taking these pauses in her day. Something sweet, unexplained comes to meet her at these times. Sometimes she hears herself releasing a deep sigh.

She's discovering the richness of those moments 'out of her head'. Everything inside & outside comes together in a harmonious song. It leaves her soothed & refreshed. -Sukhvinder Sircar

This blend was inspired by a dream a dear friend had about me creating a feminine infusion for our monthly moon.

Lovingly prepared using gemstone infusion of Moonstone, Carnelian,  Unikite and  sacred mantra.

Moonstone is gentle and soothing and encourages you to "go with the flow".  Carnelian is associated with the root and sacral chakras - it stabilizes energy and is known to revitalize the blood. Unikite is a gentle yet powerful stone that brings about connection and aids in female reproductive health."

Included is:
  • 2 oz organic botanical blend of:  Red Raspberry leaf, Saw Palmetto Berries, Hibiscus, Shatavari, Vitex berries, Red rose petals and buds & Ginger root a little ,magic and a lot of love.
  • Hand stamped Cotton drawstring bag - includes offerings and directions to make a moon bag.
  • And, my Moon-Time E-book including worksheets, journals and rituals to honor your sacred flow.
You can purchase it here.

Take time to honor what makes you feminine. Honor yourself, loves, you deserve it.

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

Full Moon: Tea Ritual with Lindsay Luna

Happy Full Moon beauties!

With this grounding Full Moon, I asked the Goddess Lindsay from Whole Body Alchemy to share a tea ritual - she makes tea magic! Enjoy :)

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

Making oneself a pot of tea is a magical process. Whether you intend to or not you are creating a ritual that is hundreds of years old.

All the elements are involved in making tea:
Earth is represented by the botanicals; seed, roots, leaves and flowers.
Water is the magical conduit that is used to infuse with the botanicals.
Fire is represented by the act of heating the water.
Air is the aromatic vapors released from the steam.

Combined, you have yourself a beautiful ceremony of the four corners, and by taking in the sacred brew you are honoring the fifth element of spirit.

To get started, select your tea and tea ware. Regardless of the tea ware you use, the sacred space you create is what is vital to the outcome of your ritual. This ritual is a time to let go of the concerns of the day and focus your intentions on the simple comforts available to you in the form of flower, leaf, root and seed.
Choosing herbs is also an important element. What do you have currently available in your cupboard  Are you feeling drawn to using a floral blend, a spicy, deep or pungent blend? The choice of tea can reflect what you may be needing at this time. For example; I often select creamy, spicy teas such as a ginger and vanilla.  Ginger is considered an herb of the moon, is fiery and sensual much like the full moon herself. Vanilla is also sensual, deep and aromatic.

Steeping
When you are ready to pour the water over the herbs speak softly while pouring, “I infuse this water with (insert your intentions here)”. During the next few minutes, let’s focus on breath.  Slowly breathing in for a count of four, pause at the top f your breath and exhale slowly for a count of four.  Once your tea is ready according to your taste preference, take your cup and find a comfortable place to settle in.

Sacred Space
Find a comfortable place  on the floor or at a table, preferably near a window where the light and the view are inspiring or relaxing. If the weather near you is cool keep a throw blanket handy that you can curl up in while you enjoy your tea. If it is warmer where you are take your tea outside and sit among the beauty of nature.

Where the magic happens:
As you begin to steep yourself in the comforts of tea, notice the aromas, the taste and the beauty in what your have created.  As the ribbons of steam unfurl around you- the lessons of the day are taken in with each sip.  If you have a notebook handy, now would be an ideal time to write down your inner reflections. As you sip your tea, is your mind wandering?  What are you thinking about?

Take a moment to release what is on your mind. Acknowledge it, let it go and take a deep breath and come back to the self-nurturing of this simple ritual.

With each sip we can practice letting go of the days burdens. With a clear mind our awareness is fine tuned and we can come back  into balance with our mind, body, and soul.

Once you have reached the end of your cup, take your herbs/ tea bag and gift them to your garden or compost bin. This small act is a great way to honor the earth and all the abundance she provides for us.

I hope you enjoy this tea ritual, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Cup of Tea: Ayurvedic Tea Consultation

I am so excited to share this Cup of tea with you all. And it was blended just for me. Isn't it beautiful? And not too mention delicious.

Lindsay Luna, Goddess at Whole Body Alchemy offers Ayurvedic Tea Consultations. It encompasses your concerns about your health and well-being, an in-depth look into your own Doshic constitution, and a custom hand-blended tea made by Lindsay herself.

I can get lost in Lindsay's beautiful site and her insight into Ayurveda. I have always been fascinated by the ancient science of Ayurveda and know I am Vata/Pitta, but I have never known where to go from there. Okay, so now what? And then I would forget about it.

In Lindsay's consultation she gave me a comprehensive survey to find out my exact Doshic ratio ( I love quizzes! ), and a break down of simple, affordable, and practical ways I can keep myself balanced. That is huge for me - I get easily overwhelmed (most likely my Vata!) and keeping things simple, yet efficient, keeps me sane.

I have started to incorporate some of her advice and I can already feel a difference in my body, mind, and soul. She gave me a key word to work with and it is so dead on in so many ways. She reaffirmed why I would be feeling the way I do and suggested ways to bring back my harmony and energy. THANK YOU Lindsay! I needed this on so many levels.

And the TEA! She told me all the ingredients and why she put them in, and when the package arrived it took my breath away!

So above is is my own custom blend of tea she created just for me, dealing with my own Vata/Pitta issues. I feel so loved and special. When I drank and sat in ritual with it, it was Divine. Mellow, soothing, fresh and sweet, I felt so centered afterward.

I HIGHLY recommend her tea consultation, and it is so affordable. Everyone should have this for themselves and experience Lindsay's wisdom and craft. She takes her time with you and I feel the love within my cup. So much healing and gratitude. I will definitely be getting a refill!! I am off to pour another cup...

Cup of Tea: Coconut "Chai" Latte

Today's Cup of Tea comes with a recipe. Okay, so it's not at all really a chai tea, I thought I had had a pack but I was wrong. This still came out really yummy though.

I used a  tea bag of Good Earth's Original: Sweet and Spicy as the closest alternative. I put a spoonful of brown sugar and a dollop of coconut oil (it was solid) before I added the hot water. The coconut does make the tea pretty oily, but I thought it gave it a nice creamy body. It doesn't hurt to try and it's healthy! To top it off I added some coconut milk. I love the coconut flavor; it tasted like a light dessert :)

The quote on the tea bag is:

"Trust thyself only and another shall not betray thee."

~Thomas Fuller

I don't know how much I agree with it as I do believe it is important to open your heart and let people in and trust, but you cannot rely on others' opinions too much. Trusting yourself is so important.

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday!

Love and Blessings,

Cup of Tea: Forgiveness

Source

The Weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

~Ghandi

I have been silently contemplating what forgiveness means to me this February. And while eating out the other day, my psychic boyfriend pointed this quote out to me among the hundreds of other quotes on the wall. Psychic, I tell ya.

Moon Days: New Moon Brews

This New Moon weekend I turned my little kitchen into an apothecary cabinet. I created my tinctures on the New Moon since the Waxing Moon enhances the absorption of liquids. I brewed my own Moon-time tea with raspberry leaf, lady's mantle, and hibiscus flower- tart, yummy, and soothing- much needed on my own cycle. I created a vanilla rose bath salt blend with ylang ylang and geranium essential oils for a Galentine's Day gift exchange my friend is putting together, along with  a soothing detox mask of green clay, crushed lavender, and aloe vera powder. It's so much fun!!

I have a little extra so let me know if you would like a tin of any of my herbal creations! Contact me so we can work something out :)

What did you do this New Moon?

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

Cup of Tea: Rest

source

"Rest and be thankful."

~William Wordsworth

And that I am. I am so grateful for everyone's support and encouraging comments during this whole process. I can now rest a little and be thankful for achieving this milestone. The Moon-time course will always be up so you can start it whenever you feel called to do so, or not. I am just happy a piece of me, my passion, my soul is out there in the world to help other women.

Thank you so much, my kindred spirits!
Onward and upward!

Ps. Have you ever tried the original Good Earth Tea? It is sooooo good, no need to add anything! It is so amazing and rich! Love.

Cup of Tea: Comparison

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Theodore Roosevelt

I just finished my second class at Pure Barre and I must say, it was hard not to compare myself to the more flexible, fitter ladies. But I just kept closing my eyes, focusing on my fatiguing muscles and reminding myself, "This is for me." If I lose focus on that what is the point? So cheers to focusing on yourself for nourishment and self-sustainability. 13 more classes to go!

Cup of Tea: Autumn

Source

"Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns."

-   George Eliot

Can't wait for big sweaters and cuddling up with cups of tea. We are still in a big heat wave, and I am so ready for cold weather!

And Theo is doing very well, it is hard to keep him calm and still, but I am glad his spirits are up. Thank you for all the love! We feel it!

~KAKUZO OKAKURA, Book of Tea

Honey, ginger, chamomile, and lemon (unfortunately, I didn't have any to use) is such a soothing combo for the throat. Drinking tea is so healing on so many levels...sigh.
