23andMe

So this is a really big deal for me. Most of my family is adopted. My papa is adopted and never found anything out about his family, and so was my grandpa on my mother's side. I only know about a quarter of my family ancestry and history. I have always felt a disconnect when it came to my ancestors and family and I really think it affects my root chakra.

23andMe is a genetic research project and if you sign up you get to learn about you own unique personal genome. Our 23 chromosome hold narratives of our bodies. On both sides of the family. Ancestry and health issues. I am excited to finally bridge this gap and learn more about me and my ancestors. Not to mention,  what I need to do to ensure optimum health. They need a sample of the your spit and they do the rest.

I will share with you my findings and what makes me, ME! <3

Grounding

After releasing a big project, I have heard you can go through an unsettling phase after. I sure am. The phase has a theme of ungrounded, scattered energy. Everything is scattered: my thoughts, emotions, my clothes, and my energy is a big blah. I have been floating in the ether for so long, my soul is not use to Earth at the moment. And to be completely honest, Earth has always felt like foreign ground to me; I believe we all have themes and lessons we must learn in this lifetime, and one of mine is Earth Medicine. My lower chakras, pertaining to my physical body (mostle root and sacral) have always been imbalanced, so it is time to bring back some nourishment, me thinks. It has been far too long Marissa.

Samhain was not the best for me this year, a lot of issues surfaced, and it made me realize how much I need a clearing out in all areas of my life. And it needs to start with me, in my body, in my mind, in my heart and soul. The sacred sage bundle (above) and a beautiful set of stones (above is Garnet) is exactly what my soul needed this morning. I ordered this set from Sage Goddess and it was one of the first things I woke up to. The sage bundle has rosemary and rose petals and smells absolutely divine. I have been carrying it around with me all day just smelling and savoring it. I even smudged the inside of my car and it got way too smoky in there, haha, lesson learned! It is healing to say the least. And Garnet is a stone of the root chakra so I have been keeping myself grounded.

A nice start off to November, I think. Keep yourselves grounded loves and remember releasing is  apart of life (more of a reminder to me). Love to you all this November <3

Arizona Part 1: Flagstaff

Words cannot really capture what I experienced in Arizona. I am not even sure pictures can either. My whole life I have never really felt like I have had a true home. I grew up in Napa, moved down to Southern California, but it has all felt the same to me. I have often wondered if my soul would ever be content somewhere, and up to this point, I have accepted that my roots would never experience sinking deep into a "true home," whatever that meant anyway.

But Arizona. I can feel my roots seeking deeply there. There is something so majestic and spiritual in that region, I still cannot wrap my head around it. Maybe I am not supposed to; over-thinking is overrated anyway. Now that I am back, it is so painfully apparent how unrooted I really am here.It is hard to concentrate, and my soul longs to go back to that Wilderness. I truly miss that place.

I must get back there, and I must live there one day. I am not sure when or how, but it will happen. For now I can share these pictures with you all. There are lots more to come from the Grand Canyon and Sedona.

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter
